anime alabasta really is THE arc where zoro comes to terms with his feelings for luffy huh. the big ole oh moment. the desert heat, the lack of water and food, the fatigue.... it makes zoro's patience with luffy thinner than ever. he's mad at him & constantly snapping. mad that he's "incompetent", that he gets so lost, that he's not a traditional captain (or is he frustrated with himself? for letting his feelings, something he thought he learned to control years ago, got the best of him?). he's going on a long winded rant to chopper -- about the crew, and how sometimes he wonders if he made the right choice. but then -- then!! -- its as if the desert sands themselves shifted something within zoro, because he's saying "as for why I stay with him.... being by his side all this time's given me another goal to strive for." chopper asks "another goal?" and zoro replies "sorry. I don't know how to explain that." it's something he's barely admitted to himself, let alone out loud. and after zoro has finally come to terms with it, calling luffy an idiot goes right back to being an affectionate term of endearment. he's leaving him to fight crocodile alone, and no matter how worried/borderline scared he is (ie working out because he's so scared of luffy losing.... and by default losing luffy), with a smile on his face. because that's his captain. a teenage enigma who will constantly put his life on the line for others, who shines so bright it hurts, who zoro can't stop looking at even if it blinds him. anyways. much to think about.

AHHHH yeshhhh ! i have some self insert lore that’s been floating in my brain but it’s all uncertain and stc !! in my head i think i wld be selling tea w one of my parents around moreposek like rlly young maybe 4 or 5? and ajax and his family are curious abt the new tea sellers whose beverage has been rumored to have healing or medicinal effects. irl apparently i was a confident, funny, and social child w a lot of moxie (my dad described me as an imp). ajax is described to be frightened and hesitant before the abyss in his fifth character story. so i think i wld be forward w ajax the first time we meet, like going up to him first or commenting on his hair or smth? it’s instant friendship at least. i think he’d be fascinated w liyue and ask me a lot abt it but bc i moved so early i dont know too much. then later that kinda becomes relevant when the fatui ship him off there and he’s incredibly excited and already has an affinity for liyue for some reason hehehe…… um this isnt much of a story but maybe i will flesh it out in more detail at some point ?? but i hope it satisfied at least a little bit of your curiosity !

OH ! i hadn’t actually thought abt this ! ty for asking ! i think he told me he wanted to go out adventuring, i was supportive bc he said it was gonna be for like a week (maybe i baked the bread he took w him or sharpened his shortsword before he left??). but then he came back after only three days and i was shocked and worried smth happened. i think this was our first reunion (teajax has quite a few of those hmm), and he said three months had passed for him and i was like What :D. so he came back “frivolous and confident” according to his character story and i was worried i was losing him. at 14 i was much shyer and insecure so i didn’t say anything abt the changes. i think our roles reversed since we were kids, like he was louder and more open w affection, and i was embarrassed and quiet. and i didn’t say much to try and help him, i cld’ve done more (and this haunts me esp when he’s sent away to the fatui). i wanted him to open up and hear abt what happened in there but he never opened up. and i wasnt comfortable enough to push. hmm yeah. enough on that, idek if this all makes sense!!!!
