What’s your favorite Bughead head canon?
So, thank you for going around and asking this to combat fandom negativity in light of the season 5 spoilers! I’ve loved reading everyone’s headcanons, and I apologize this took so long! I wanted to think of a good one, y’know?
Oh man, so, I am a big fan of the popular fanon/headcanon that Jughead had a whole Thing for Betty for an indeterminate period of time. I just really love pining, y’know?
But that’s not very unique so here’s another one: Jughead proposes to Betty through a murder mystery party. Like, for her birthday or something, he arranges an elaborate murder mystery party and forces all their friends to attend, despite none of them having an interest in murder mystery parties. And his whole plan is that, when Betty inevitably solves the mystery, the solution will somehow be or involve a “Will you marry me?” clue or solution to a problem with Jughead kneeling in front of her somehow. I’m not clear on the details of this, but I’m a fan of it because it combines Jughead’s extra-ness with Betty and Jughead’s love of mysteries and investigations. Also, Jughead has wanted to propose to Betty since he was like sixteen, let him have this.
What’s your favorite Bughead head canon?
This is such a great question! I’ve been enjoying reading what everyone has been posting!
I think the main thing is that they never lose their interest in exploring mysteries and uncovering injustice, like, wherever they end up, even if it’s just the mystery of the stolen bike. They are continually delighted by each other’s interest in mysteries.
I feel like they’re the “married” couple in their friend group, regardless of whether they’re actually married- the couple that always seems to be in sync, seems like they’ve known each other forever, can finish sentences, deal with conflict, relationship or other in a mature fashion.
They’ve definitely had sex in the Blue and Gold at least once
Betty’s a good cook like in canon, but Jughead learns how to cook as soon as they have their own space, and they like cooking together. Jughead likes making decadent desserts and Betty will find him in the kitchen trying out complicated cake recipes.
Jughead doesn’t smoke. He starts a bit in college, but Betty doesn’t like it and points out the health problems, and he stops. He also doesn’t want to be addicted to anything, because of FP.
They both end up seeing therapists. They both have their own, though they do a few sessions together to cover their shared trauma.
They are the embodiment of the “My Wife’s Enemies Are Now My Enemies Too” article
When they are teens their sex life is adventurous but neither is dominant because their prevailing opinion is “yay sex!”. In college they explore more but are both enthusiastic switches, and like to explore new things.
Alice ends up loving Jughead once they’ve been together for a few more years, he still stays kind of scared of her and is always confused when she thinks he’ll join her when she wants to convince Betty to make a decision.
To steal this idea from @arsenicpanda because I love it, in one alternate universe the Stonewall plot gets the attention of someone mysterious and they suddenly get full rides to a university that is both prestigious and obscure, and once they get there it’s weird and they end up spending 4 years exploring eldritch mysteries, enjoying college life in a spooky town, have weird roommates and finally figure out their mysterious benefactor and why they wanted them to come here. Lots of fall vibes, lots of sneaking around old stone buildings and making out in corners.
I see your user name and every time I think, now I need to know if there are edamame chips and if so where can I find them?
hi love! you see, i too was very intrigued when i first read about them in janet’s ( @easyluckyfree45) fic. the moment i read about Betty munching on them, i was like wow that’s ingenious. that sounds like my favorite snack ever.
however, i am not American and everytime an American shockingly discovers TJ’s doesn’t exist outside of the States, it makes me add it on my (very short) list of reasons why i should move to murica.
tl;dr yes, mother google tells me they do exist and i would love to get my hands on them one day.
(they come in different flavors!!)
Query: what’s your favorite part of putting all of this together?
A lot of things! But if I picked one thing, it’s that it has introduced me to a bunch of really talented fandom creators I didn’t know before!
The art submissions for this zine especially have really blown me away! It was such a thrill to see the different submissions coming in.
What’s your favorite Bughead head canon?
OH I HAVE SEVERAL.
1. Okay, first of all...bughead are into some weird shit. We KNOW murder is a bughead kink, and multiple people have commented on the sex tape. Those two are into the weird stuff.
2. Jughead had to convince his dad to let him take Betty home after 3x22. Look, this happened. She had nobody, she went through an incredible trauma AGAIN, she saw her father get shot in front of her, and she had no home. There is SO MUCH angst potential here. So Jughead 100% took her home and was so adamant about the fact that she’s staying
3. That’s why he kept her room exactly the same. He wanted her to feel at home and comforted even though everything else had gone to shit. And eventually, he just thought it looked kind of cute and smelled nice and what the hell, it’s a full bed in a full room so the room ended up staying the frilly pink it always was
4. Betty is the dominant one. And when I say this I mean Jughead is 100% into it but she is definitely the dominant partner.
5. We know murder is a bughead kink but like, it REALLY is. Like Jughead wrote a book about them killing all their friends and their principal and betty was like
Like the weirder the better for these two. Serial killers turn them on. This has been lampshaded and basically made canon. They’re into it. It’s a thing.
5. Jughead is the cutest most neurotic dad ever. Like their kid eats dirt for the first time and Jughead has poison control on the phone within six seconds. Sometimes Betty laughs at it, but she also realizes it’s his way of compensating for a really unstable childhood so she just kind of accepts the over-parenting.
Anyway, that’s all for now! I am sure I’ll add more to this later!
Thank you for the ask, my beautiful fruit bat!
I’m so sad because I literally cannot deal with clowns, but every preview that comes across my dash for your AU makes me want to read it more. IT (Tim Curry OG) is partially the reason, so all I have to ask is: how many nights of sleep will I miss if I read this AU? Cause I’m about to jump in tomorrow in the daylight
I am so happy!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!! Let me know if you like it!! There has been extremely minor clown action thus far so I hope not too much sleep!!
@soyforramen just said she likes my sideblog without knowing that it’s my sideblog. I AM BURSTING WITH HAPPINESS.
*AM likes me is playing on repeat in my brain*
