So Yong Kim is an award winning Korean American independent filmmaker. She has made four featured films, 'In Between Days,' 'Treeless Mountain,' 'For Ellen,' and most recently Love Song. For 'In Between Days,' she received the special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film festival, which was her debut film. So Yong is the Sundance QUEEN! In 2012 her film, film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Also, in 2016, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. She has also written three of her four films! Like many storytellers, So Yong Kim has taken her life experiences and used it to the best of her advantage, creating riveting stories for the big screen. It’s inspiring to see Asian American women being represented in media! So Yong has directed episodes for ABC’s 'American Crime.' 'The Good Fight,' 'Transparent' and Queen Sugar, to name a few.
