Girl In New York: Women's Tales No. 7 Premiere

Last night was the premiere of Women's Tales 7, Spark and Light by Soon Yong Kim starring Riley Keough. The event was held at the legendary Diamond Horseshoe club where guests arrived to surrealist hand doorknobs, taxidermy and decadence. The premiere included director So Yong Kim and actress Riley Keough, along with guests Hailee Steinfeld, Sami Gayle, Zosia Mamet, Melonie Diaz,  Jessica Stroup, Meghan Markle, Nicola Peltz, Adepero Oduye, Alexa Chung, Sarah Paulson, Anna Kendrik, and Bella Thorne. After the film was screened, guests stayed on to hear Icelandic band mum and watch performances. See my photos over at Instagram and watch the film at miumiu.com.

Women's Tales Director, So Yong Kim

As we look forward this week to the new Women's Tales No. 7 premiere, I thought I would share more about the director working with Miu Miu this season.

So Yong Kim is a Korean-born filmmaker, residing and working in the United States. She's currently in development on her fourth narrative feature film, "70." Her third feature, FOR ELLEN, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was theatrically release by Tribeca Films in the U.S., It's been sold by Memento Film worldwide. Her critically acclaimed second feature TREELESS MOUNTAIN was released by Oscilloscope Laboratories and received numerous awards worldwide. Kim’s first feature, IN BETWEEN DAYS, won the Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival along with the International Critics’ Prize at Berlin. Kino International released the film. Kim has also produced three feature films by Bradley Rust Gray: SALT, THE EXPLODING GIRL and JACK & DIANE.
