Seared super white tuna sushi offers a delightful contrast of textures and flavors, with the tender and slightly charred tuna complemented by the savory soy sauce and aromatic sesame oil. It's a sophisticated twist on traditional sushi.
Ingredients: 200g super white tuna fillet. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. 2 cups sushi rice, cooked. Nori sheets. Wasabi. Soy sauce for dipping. Pickled ginger for serving. Toasted sesame seeds for garnish.
Instructions: Slice the super white tuna fillet thinly, about 1/4 inch thick. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and grated ginger. Marinate the tuna slices in the mixture for 10 minutes. Heat a skillet over high heat. Sear the tuna slices for about 30 seconds on each side until lightly browned but still raw inside. Cut nori sheets into strips, about 1 inch wide. Take a small amount of sushi rice and form it into bite-sized rectangles. Place a slice of seared tuna on top of each rice rectangle. Roll a strip of nori around each sushi piece, securing it. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Serve with wasabi, soy sauce for dipping, and pickled ginger.
