Sometimes a cast of characters in a book or whatever is implied to be overwhelmingly white as that's just assumed to be the "default" so fandoms will take it upon themselves to do colour-blind casting to make it more diverse, but they haven't quite learned racist/colourist stereotypes and archetypes so now we've got people just doing. god I don't even know how to describe it. It's just bad
Jokingly hating your favourite character and being silly like "oh haha they're so terrible and awful" and then seeing someone who genuinely hates your fave because they completely misunderstand the very foundation of the story
