Today marks three years since I started working on my original story project Space Ballet, so I thought it would be fun to redraw old pieces of each set of MCs! Starting us out is my beloved Space Nutcracker crew — Hans, Marie, and Fritz — who have teamed up to find Drosselmeyer after he was mysteriously kidnapped.
(The original is below the cut!)
Today, my friends, is the anniversary of when I came up with my beloved original writing project, Space Ballet. It’s been going on strong for three years (THREE) and it is definitely not stopping anytime soon. To celebrate, I have art of the main cast queued up that’ll post all throughout the day! :D
Some highlights/milestones that happened this year:
I finished Draft 3.5 of Book 1 and sent it out to beta readers!!
I started drafting Book 2 🎉
Thought about nothing for three weeks but a character who doesn’t become important until the end of Book 3 and now he is one of my overall favorites and I think I started like. 3 different short stories about him
On that note, I wrote an entire fanfiction about him and his love interest in a fantasy AU which was easily the most beautiful & deepest thing I’ve ever written
Also added a retelling of the Alice in Wonderland ballet to the line-up, just for fun. Or so I thought. It ended up actually being important to the plot, which is still wild to me because it is in fact. a space opera retelling. of Alice in Wonderland.
being a writer with vividly alive characters is like a game of russian roulette. I'll never know which ones will go along with the plot contentedly, which ones will get tired and go on vacation, and which ones really, really, REALLY want to get married before they're supposed to
after all these posts I've made about the one OC that's been rotating around in my head like a microwave, I hope that someday when my books are published y'all will read them and be able to figure out who it was just based on my ramblings
listening to a song and then realizing it fits one of your characters only to remember the reason why it fits them is because of a plot twist you've sworn yourself to secrecy about ... it hits differently, that's all
