How do people deal with singlets telling them they're lucky to have a system? I'm sick of hearing it from every lonely singlet, they don't care that we're suffering, they don't even notice that we are. They just think that we're a bunch of people hanging out together in one body and it's fun. I don't know how to drill it into their heads that we're in pain, we can't even get help right now. Sorry for the rant I'm just extremely frustrated right now...
I feel you, ugh. It would be sweet if it was just “another you” that could take over while you’re at work or doing something boring, but that’s not at all how it is. It’s a disorder, it’s not a fun escape or constant inner friendship.
You can try explaining it to others like this, and emphasizing that alters split from trauma and that you can’t always communicate or get along with them. You could also try just... telling people to stop talking about it. If the way your friends talk about your disorder makes you uncomfortable, you can absolutely request they not talk about it.
You’re not alone in this, I’m sorry you’re feeling bad. Please be safe- it’ll get better.
