"Four Wheeled Panic"

So, Archie Comics, expanding everywhere, maybe in an economic bubble out of the success of Saturday morning cartoons and a bubble gum rock song, opened up a restaurant in Joliet, Illinois. It was going to be a chain. The actual owners of the restaurant were less than honest or honorable and there probably wasn’t any grand market for an Archie Comics theme restaurant, so ties were severed and the enterprise was dead in two years. And it is not intruding much in the comic book universe – there is one where they travel to Joliet and meet the mayor and sees the restaurant named after him and there is one where John Goldwater meets with Archie and discusses how everything is looking up up up for Archie Enterprises including the restaurant – and then there is this one where Archie apparently himself opens up this restaurant chain. Until it gets reprinted. Then he’s just doing delivery for Pop’s.

Curious thing on this revision, though. They don’t really seem to bother much with its revising. So the rendering becomes slap dash.

And even further slap dash.

A few more panels and they’d just squiggle incoherently.
