I hate being planetside. I was born and raised in space, gene modded for space. 0.5 Cradle G is my preferred habitat.
My first time on a planet was on Cradle to do my PhD. Then when I arrived in Calliope I spent some time in the Chabad hab on Asphodel.
Idk how you all live like that. Everything is so slow moving and heavy. And there's weather! Who needs weather! It's also so empty, and open. Blah Blah nature... plants... whatever- have you SEEN Asphodel!? Mud and rain and hot and rust. And they encourage wasteful systems because of their abundance. Look what that lead to on Cradle? Thousands of years of runaway climate collapse. On a ship or a station you have no choice but to be mindful of inputs, outputs and recycling. On a planet people think terraforming is a good idea even though it's impossible to perfectly predict all the parameters. "If it goes wrong we'll just pack up and move." Statements dreamed up by the utterly absurd.
Planets are awful.
