welcome!
There is a camp that runs every summer by the lake… but only those invited can come. No one remembers who built the treehouse, but there’s no point thinking about that when there’s fun to be had roasting marshmallows and swimming in the refreshing waters. It’s ramshackle and probably not up to code, but it’s home and there are dozens of initials carved into the trees. Waking up in the dewy summer mornings after a cold night, surrounded by humming dragonflies... This truly is the best way to live.
lake + outside hangout space...
treehouse and inside!

Do you have a reference for how you translate colors into arthropod vision? For oc and/or fanart reasons I would like to know how you go about picking your colors!
I just steer clear of yellow, orange, and red (the range of the light spectrum that most insects can't see)! I also try to stick to a sort of neon cyberpunk palette, as a nod to ultraviolet fluorescence (though that isn't the same thing as ultraviolet reflectance, when things are *actually* ultraviolet colors).
I actually made this color pyramid as a reference, once! Insect vision is based in blue, green, and ultraviolet, where ours is based in blue, green, and red, so I tried to capture that here. (Ignore the scribbly notes, they're largely obsolete.)
