Feeling Better
Prompt: So I thought since it’s Valentine’s day that I would take this prompt and shove some good ol’ Valentine’s cuteness into it
Pairing: Miles x Reader
Warnings:
A/N: So I know I have other fics that I was supposed to write before this but then again I saw the potential for this fic and fucking ran with it so yeah. #sorrynotsorry
It was just your luck to start off what was supposed to be your first Valentine’s day with your boyfriend Miles violently throwing up after catching the worst stomach bug you had ever had.
Upon waking up you knew that there was no way that you were going to make it to work that day, let alone be able to go on your date with Miles that evening so you decided to just call in sick for the day and text Miles and rearrange your date for another day when you were feeling a bit better.
You awoke later in the day after a well needed nap to the sound of metal clattering and shattering kitchenware. You stumbled to your bedroom door to look out into the hallway, “Miles?” You asked seeing your boyfriend crawling around picking up pieces of a shattered bowl off of your floor while surrounded by cutlery and soup.
“Shit, I was trying to bring you something to make you feel a little better but I tripped and now I’ve broken one of your bowls and gotten soup all over the floor,” Miles gushed, “just go back to bed Y/N, and I’ll clean up this mess and bring you some food.”
You couldn’t tell if it was 5 minutes or an hour but eventually Miles came back into your room to find you half asleep and curled up in your blankets. “Y/N, come on, you need to eat something. It will make you feel better.” Miles whispered softly, while helping you sit up in bed. Miles sat next to you on your bed and held the bowl in his lap so that he could feed you some soup out of the bowl.
Once the soup was all gone, you had both spent the day snuggled on the sofa watching movies, and after all of that Miles tucked you back into your bed, lay next to you and held you as his hands ran through your hair to help you to get some sleep. “Thank you for looking after me Miles, and I’m sorry that I ruined our first Valentine’s together by getting sick” You mumbled sleepily.
“You didn’t ruin anything Y/N” Miles promised, “All that matters to me is that you get better so that we can have a proper Valentine’s date later.” That was the last thing you heard before falling asleep. You didn’t hear the whispered “I love you” or the promise to make sure that every Valentine’s day to come would be better, but you did hear him in the morning, whistling while he made you breakfast after spending the night to make sure that you didn’t wake up alone if you started throwing up at night and despite the promise he made to make each Valentine’s day better than the last you could never deny that that was the best Valentine’s day you’d ever had.
