I mean I'm pretty sure zombies are a Haitian legend so, definitely Vodou, but it's not like Vodou would teach you how to turn someone into a zombie or anything, like you said, it's a religion that has nothing to do with that.

i have this BIIIIG Book of world mythology that has everything in it, including stuff about how colonial stuff...changed legends or...erased them, like some people making anansi a christian symbol. its a good book. i liked the section on africa more, bc of egyptian legends but then i read about more african legends and oooooh so good.
Zombies are Haitian and voodoo yep! Tho i think there are ...subsects w/ african mythology and similar creatures in africa but i cant remember.
