     “What? No. Of course not,” he replied - surprisingly without the usual sarcasm he’d have in response to a question he deemed as ridiculous. He didn’t seem to notice the lack of subtlety, either.

     “You just kinda looked like you were looking for something, that’s all. I mean- you are new to the ship, so I figured I’d ask just in case you were lost or something.”

     For a few moments, it seemed as if though it wasn’t going to answer that question since the cursor did not immediately appear on the screen. Eventually, though, it showed, the creature having decided it was worth replying to, though even then the cursor blinked a few times before it said something.

     “& a terrible liar at that.” Had he been, perhaps, HER version of her brother, he’d have had an amused tone - but he wasn’t & he didn’t; his voice was monotone. Despite his words, he actually believed her after that response she gave - this girl clearly wasn’t that good at keeping secrets, he could assume that much just from her general demeanour. Odd, though - in all of his travels among timelines, he hadn’t encountered any Ventrexian with the last name GOODSPEED. Well, one that wasn’t just some alternate version of Gary, that was.

     “Look, kid, I ain’t got time for chit-chat - I got places t’ be. If there’s somethin’ you want, you’re gonna have to speed this along.”

     “Well what the hell do ya’ want me t-” she just about snapped, just barely managing to hold herself back. This could’ve been interpreted as her facade slipping if not for the fact that this was a genuinely stressful situation. She was safe on that front, but of course, that didn’t mean she could act freely that way - that’d still chase John off.

     “I’m sorry. You’re right. This isn’t helping. What do ya’ want me t’ do?”

     “Oh yeah? Short people don’t get juice, either.” He just - casually takes it from her hands &  puts it on the highest shelf. What a smug bastard.

     The teen didn’t even look up from his current task - had he done so, he would have been much more alarmed by the sight of the other KVN (mostly in the fact that he was a fresher model). He gave a small, annoyed groan instead, his bobbed tail flicking sharply.

     “No thank you, KVN,” he replied in a mutter. “There’s nothing to talk about. Not that you’ll listen, but I’d rather be left alone.”
