The PMAS 2017 serves as a test bed for future Mars Expeditions. PMAS 2017 aims to run a realistic human Mars simulation mission, i.e. with a fully isolated analogue astronaut crew and time-delayed communications, and to conduct solid research on various aspects and issues that arise from deep-space travel. Moreover, it aims to grow public's interest in space exploration by engaging them in an informative documentary, and involving students and young professionals in the mission, mission related workshops/events and interactive mission-related competitions and citizen science projects. Team Members will come from over 28 different countries, and will represent scientific disciplines ranging from Engineering to Astrophysics, Psychology, Geology, and Biology.
