𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 .      shifted ,   really ,     but changed nonetheless .     ever since they found ophelia ,     found the last remaining member of his crew ,     leon’s been . . .     different .       a little more reserved ,     a little more withdrawn from her .      it’s almost poetic that she finds him here ,      looking out into the dark abyss .      the same spot she found him before ,     back when he was bitter & angry & refusing to believe she was worthy of becoming his partner .      echo comes to stand beside him ,     arms folded across her chest ,      shoulders tensed and spine straight .        ‘        did she wake ?         ’

        it  wasn’t  a  secret  that  she  had  taken  the  news  of  earth  harshly.  she’d  refused  to  speak  to  anyone  ,  shutting  down  even  as  they  sought  out  answers  ,  of  what  to  do  next.  they  were  all  mourning  and  she  was  doing  her  best  to  remember  that  ,  especially  now  on  a  new  planet  that  was  most  likely  going  to  be  home.  unless  they  were  just  going  to  live  out  the  rest  of  their  lives  on  a  spaceship.   “   breathing  in  fresh  air  for  the  first  time  in  over  a  hundred  years.   ”   she  tilts  her  head  back  to  him  ,  her  smile  only  a  little  forced.   “   i’ve  got  my  gun  ,  don’t  worry.    ”
