So, I was watching/Listening to Soliton, and thinking about the themes hinted at in Vice Quadrant, and an idea popped into my head.
P.A.Walter 1st probably designed the robots with ‘stock’ resonation chambers for their voices. Allowing them to sing, and speak, at different sound frequencies, but, largely, not giving them extremely unique sounds. They were just some bots that harmonized, and sang.
But, as the years drew on, and the house went through Walter after Walter, perhaps new Voice Boxes were developed for the bots, based on various Walter Family members. Particularly, ones that the bots, individually, were close to.
This idea came to me, because I’m assuming the astronaut David portrays in Soliton, and in that VQ teaser ages ago, is a Walter. In space. The Spine is a future spacey robot. Perhaps The Spine, and that Walter, got along well.
Like, it makes me think. Maybe Rabbit’s voice, initially, resembled P.A.Walter I, (and of course, is being changed to a female walter’s voice/has been tweaked to sound feminine.) Because Rabbit held a really close relationship with Pappy.
This would mean The Spine was the last bot to recieve his own voice.
What do you think? Robots always sounded as they do now, or were given the voices of the Walter Family members they best got along with?
