As a non-Washingtonian, Washingtonians didn't bother to teach us to pronounce the names. We got made fun of for trying to read them and they are hard to read when you don't know what they're aupposed to sound like.

I wouldn't think that "saguaro" or "ocotillo" are hard to pronounce, but that's because I know what they're supposed to sound like. Non Southwesterners still struggle with them!

That's actually a good point, you're right! It is a fun game to play at first of "how do you think this is pronounced", but ultimately, we should teach each other how to say our region's native words!

idk. i really love lightning bugs. and wooly worms. idk if they’re considered a bug tho. and bumble bees are cute.

and i love them big fluffy as a kitten moths

idk. i love a whole lot of bugs but i’m too afraid to touch them. mostly cuz i don’t want to hurt them.

one time when i was in jr high at pe i saw a cicada was hatching out of its old body and then some bitch came and stepped on it right in front of me so i “punched her” (i actually slapped her forehead) and had to walk laps for a week. 

one time when i was really little i caught a monarch butterfly and all the orange stuff came off on my hands and my friend was like “lol it’s gonna die now” and i felt SO HORRIBLE. i tried letting it go and it just flopped around in the dirt.
