As far as classics studies go, the best university are European ones. Oxford or Cambridge in particular, any university in Paris to have access to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France's collections, and also universities of Rome and Athens, for obvious reasons. I don't know which ones are the best in North America though. The study of manuscripts and the study of paleography are much more fulfilling where you can have hands on experience with manuscripts.
