What is 'green witch' mean?
ahhhahahahhahAahahahahaaAAAHHHHHHHAHHHAHAAHAHAHAHAH
WAnon……oh, I weep for you. You’re not ready. We’ve been sitting o this au since about this time last year. We…we might not be ready…
BUT HERE WE GO OMG MOD RUBLE AND I HAVE LITERALLY MADE EACH OTHER CRY WITH THE FEELS FROM THIS AU AHAHA
So sit back. Grab a drink. Turn on some soothing high fantasy music…and Let Me Tell You About the Spaceplant au.
So, once upon a time in a land not o unlike this one, when, in the words of Tolkien, “this ancient world was not quite so ancient”, there are people. And some of these people…are a little different. They have powers, can See what others cannot, Feel and Speak and Feel what others cannot. These people are what we could call…witches. Or at least, that’s what everyone else calls them, and the term just stuck.
Jack is a witch. He’s what one would call a green witch. His powers encompass a range of abilities in varying strengths, all of which have a lean in controlling, ‘speaking’ to, and in theme with plants. Hence the ‘green’ part of his title. He lives in the middle of a forest in a valley, a good bit away from any villages, preferring the company of the trees and woods to people. His only companion is his black, one-eyed cat Sam (she’s a girl in this au). However, though he is regarded by the nearest towns as some mix of legend, spook, and local forest monster, he is still sought out from time to time as a desperate last-chance healer.
The story begins when some children are thrown into a very desperate situation indeed when their elder sister and sole guardian falls ill to the poisonous pollen of the Blackmoon flower and realize that as magic has caused this malady, magic can be the only cure. And it is. So, packing up whatever they think they can pay a witch with enough to cure their ailing sister, they venture into the deep green woods.
Jack finds them, the trees and groves never hiding anything which comes and goes between their limbs, and he accepts their payment - though he would have accepted whether they payed or not, obv because this is Jack after all. Good dude - and he sets off to find the ingredients necessary to make the antidote to the Blackmoon flower pollen.
However, it’s noted that he must make haste as time runs thin. Per the Blackmoon flower’s effects, Jack only has until the next new moon until the sister is lost forever.
Jack travels, and soon comes upon high, rocky mountains. Just where he needed to go though, as those tall moors and meadows hold the plants necessary to create the antidote. Starshine buds.
But he is no longer alone. -Mod Thinker
Atop the mountain is another man, another witch. He is one in tune with the stars and skies above. Mark is a space witch, not meaning he's from space. He is able to control the light that comes from stars, the moon, he's able to control clouds but he isn't able to control light from the sun. He also has the ability to create effects similar to the northern lights. His comfort lies in the stars above and the wonder of space, what may be out there.
Villagers named him the space witch, and not simply for his powershowever. In a time long ago, a time before the green witch even lived the space witch caused a mass chaos. Blotting out the sun, the stars and moon. All light covered by the massive wings of his form. The people’s scorn by his great fire. Many lives lost until he was taken down by a collection of great witches, brought together to put down this great menace.
A curse was place on him with his life tied to the sun. That he shall live as long as it burns bright. Forced to watch loved ones pass, the world change and be molded without him. With this in mind he’s banished himself to the mountain tops. To never be with another person so long so he shall live.
Even so, it never stopped travelers from coming up every now and again. Seeing if the legends are true and easily being scared back by the roar of suns. But this time it was different. A man came not in the way of seeking truths, but to simply get what he needed and leave. In hearing the reason why he found himself compelled to reluctantly help.
Mark finally found purpose in ages… But can he help himself from starting up a friendship with his curse still in mind? -Mod Ruble
