25 years ago this Fall, my best friend Chris, came back home from his Freshman year in college. He was very excited about two new bands he'd been "turned on to" & he shared a few of their albums with me. Having grown up seeing The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, & other epic live touring bands together, I took his recommendation to heart. The first album I listened to was Space Wrangler by Widespread Panic. And there were many songs on the album that I took to instantly. This track, "Stop Go" was the first that really grabbed me & started my love affair with this band. Over 250+ some odd live shows later...traveling to see Widespread Panic at venues spanning every corner of our great Nation...it's safe to say, my love affair with this band has never ended & only grown stronger with each passing year! The music/band are the common glue & the memories, lifelong friends, fellowship, & pure joy I've experienced along the way...are my eternal blessings! Through every phase of my adult life & through every high & low...their music remains a source of pure joy, of fond memories, & a standard in The Soundtrack of My Life! Every song, every album, every venue, every season, every year, every twist & turn On the Road of Life....You have been with Me. Playing in my mind...playing in my heart...making my soul soar with gratitude & joy. A priceless gift! Thank You Widespread Panic (JB, Mikey, DAS, JoJo, Sunny, & Todd + Jimmy + Countless collaborators/sit ins), Brown Cat, Home Team, Tyler, Friends far/near, Team Focker, & all the hallowed venues that have hosted the band over the last 23 years of my Panic Live Tour. I send you Love...today & eternally!! My life has been blessed & enhanced by You more than I can ever express! ❤️🙏❤️

You are awesome man! I really dig the way you find poetry in the most obscure things. That’s what real poets do in my opinion. They’re not poets because they’re good at rhyming or putting fancy words together. They’re poets because of the way they think. Poetry shouldn’t be limited to such cliche concepts that are traditionally thought of when people think of what poetry is and how it should sound. Poetry is literally everywhere. In everything, everyone, and every situation we encounter. It’s just that only poets can see it. And you are one of those people my friend.
