LITTLE HAITI

Guatemalan artist Javier España made his first tentative strokes with a spray can a decade ago on the walls of a friends garage. As his technique evolved and he looked to adopt the obligatory pseudonym the combination of his name in English and “paint” led naturally to “Spaint.” After first visiting Miami’s Art Basel festival as a spectator, in 2016 he reached out to a friend and was given an opportunity to paint several murals as part of the related Buena Vista Corner Murals Festival. A year later Spaint was back in Miami where he painted this colorful work at Film Studios Miami on NW 2nd Ave in the Little Haiti neighborhood.  @spaint  @littlehaitimurals  @streetartcities​
