I do really like seeing Spamton/Tenna/Mettaton dynamics ppl come up with but I think we kind of underutilize the WEIRD intense parasocial relationship Spamton seems to have with Mettaton specifically. Like he never really brings MTT up himself, but we know while he lived in the mansion, he was down in the basement every day for god knows how long, praying to the drawing he made of the NEO body, worshipping it. The hopes and dreams of this lightner made manifest and then left for scrap were like a gift from god to him. It wasn't just a convenient means of getting stronger to exact revenge, he was OBSESSED with this thing up until it consumed him and he finally realized it wouldn't be enough to reach whatever his idea of heaven was.

Now. What do we know about Mettaton?

-Claims Kris is his only fan.

-Considerably more morose from the lack of attention and recognition when compared to his Undertale timeline self, who was absolutely thriving off how much he meant to his audience.

-Seems to have hastily deleted the drawing of the NEO body either because he thought the drawing sucked or because he was ashamed of wanting to look like that to begin with

-also in the Undertale timeline, was all too happy to give the dress he performed in to the closeted trans lion girl when she mentioned to him that she wanted to try dressing like that too

It's been shown clear as day that Tenna's presence is incredibly good for Mettaton, as well as vice versa, and there's little I could say about them that hasn't already been said by others. Tenna feels like he belongs somewhere again, he's getting the attention he craves, and he's helping Mettaton learn ways to experiment with gender, sexuality and self expression that could help him be more confident.

But Spamton? Now there is an interesting angle. How would Mettaton feel knowing how much his scrapped art, his attempt at drawing out the body he wants more than anything, meant EVERYTHING to Spamton? How would he feel knowing his work mattered that much? That Spamton saw that deep longing for a new form on the digital canvas and felt seen, because he longed for a new body too? That even if he couldn't be entirely happy the way he thought he would when he finally had it, it was what lead him to finding friends? Given all we know about MTT's desire for attention, to feel like he matters to people, and to help others like him who aren't happy with who they are to choose the life they want, I feel like even if Spamton comes off a little (read: incredibly) strong, I think that's exactly what Mettaton is looking for.

With all that in mind, I really do feel like if Spamton somehow found his way into Mettaton's house with Tenna, it'd be fraught with all the regular wildly conflicted feelings he has about his favorite idiot box, plus this RAMPANT jealousy that Tenna was "chosen" first. All that time on his knees in that basement, dedicating his whole being to the thing this lightner created and cast into the dark until he became one with it, all that pain and effort and desperation, and this fucking boob tube gets a free ride to waltz right in and be gifted a bright sparkly sash that reads "the lightner's favorite." What in the [Fifty percent off!]?!?!

Given how much Tenna went through, how heavily that big, scary, dark cloud of abandonment hung over him for as long as it did, the absolute spectacular degree of crashing out he exhibited, and then. Y'know. The knight ripping his fucking arms off, he probably would not take very kindly to the idea that he got handed his place in Mettaton's life on a silver platter.

I can only imagine it devolving real fast into some real stupid constant competition for the role of Mettaton's favorite, near-perpetually bickering and trying to one up each other, and Mettaton absolutely EATING that shit UP. Two men constantly showering him with praise and affection and telling him how much better their lives are with him in it? 100% making his brain go BRRRRRRRR.

I do think there would be moments of peace, shared nostalgia between Spamton and Tenna about the old days, telling MTT stories about all the drama backstage and how sneaky they were with keeping the relationship a secret (they were not, everyone in the tv world knew they were fuckin), even advice as to how to stay afloat in the entertainment industry if that's something he really wants to pursue. Though, it's only a matter of time until conflicting advice leads to another argument, and then the cycle continues

Tl;dr I think their dynamic is mostly Spamton and Tenna ragebaiting each other like idiots, fawning over Mettaton, making fools of themselves, and Mettaton loving every minute of it + trying to guess how long it's gonna take when his stupid boyfriends are fighting to start making out (he is watching from a safe distance with opera glasses)

i am still hung up on the idea of mettaton getting papped during a secret ill-advised hookup with spamton. bc i keep thinking about the knock-down, drag-out fight tenna would have with spamton later, screaming stuff like "YOU STAY AWAY FROM THAT NICE YOUNG MAN!"

meanwhile mettaton is terrified that tenna will be mad at HIM, but at rehearsal the next day, tenna sits him down and very seriously and compassionately tries to caution him away from dating spamton, because that man is bad news. and mettaton is like "I ABSOLUTELY NEVER WANTED TO?????" but tenna is already saying stuff like "i understand the appeal, i've been there-" and MT is like "WHAT APPEAL???"

THIS MADE ME LOSE IT, YOU ARE SO RIGHT.... IMMEDIATELY ADOPTED INTO MY HEADCANONS GODDDDDD
