do y'all think that sometimes usopp and franky both want the last piece of toast at breakfast or even scrap metal for their projects
and usopp pulls the "remember when u and ur boys beat me to the brink of death and left me there" and franky's just gotta b like alright man u got me there just take it
please don't be mad at me 🤚🏻 but next chapter of who's your friend will be postponed! it's a written chapter and very important 👀 but i got rlly busy so i won't have it on time 😔 thank you for waiting mwahhhh
it's such a great turning point of the younger crew realizing that there's a greater power out in the world, and it's more than just being pirates together
the whole crew, and especially usopp, the exemption of the older crew (ig just Robin) having to choose between their youth and moving forward in life embodied in the Going Merry...
like this is really the first step in them wising up and understanding what's out there for them (Saobody being what kicks their ass into gear)
sanji's gotta think of how to feed a 10 person crew gourmet breakfast lunch and dinner (off of a $20 budget mind you), feed Luffy, and then fight Luffy from eating the rest of the pantry, be one of the top fighters of the crew
and still find time to bathe everyday and put on a dapper 3 piece suit.
based on this comment from @unwrittenletter about my trafalgar law x reader smau series who's your friend!
i'm actually gonna address some of this rn bc i don't plan on really mentioning it in the series
in my general headcanon, Zoro's very secure about himself (or so he thinks) and therefore very prideful. for him to actually accept that he has feelings for someone like Sanji (who he is notoriously always butting heads w) would go against what he knows about himself.
and also in this series they're all very young, college-aged students who are figuring themselves out. obviously YN has a lot to figure out in terms of communication and Law is learning how to not be a complete hermit. everyone else also has their own struggles (usopp and luffy w their career paths, sanji and zoro and their relationship, ....ig nami and vivi are fine lol).
i would love to delve more into it throughout the series but it'd completely divert from the plot :p
and i could write a whole essay on Zoro being seen as a very manly dominant character and internalized homophobia
all that to say, they are young, stupid, learning to be adults, and bound to make mistakes :) so if it seems that YN, Zoro, and maybe even Law are acting childish it's bc they're meant to be! no one is perfect especially in the first years of college (ik i wasn't)
