one would’ve thought that chloe would’ve left this life behind after the last week she had spent in arcadia bay; that she had learned her lesson and grown a lot from the experience. and she had! but alone, without someone doting over her, keeping her on track, she was a mess. she had been worse before she had met rachel, and after rachel she hadn’t really given a fuck what could possibly happen to her. of course she had max now, but... well.
she had weird feelings about that. max was fine without her and had her own shit going on. who was chloe to interfere? she had already gotten over being angry at max. max had saved her life, and no matter how much chloe needed her, she couldn’t tell her that. not the crawling back, not adding more pressure to fix the fallout of abandonment problem and delinquency she had caused so many years back. no, these were chloe’s problems to bear herself.
and she was fucking bad at it.
the good thing (to her) was she had gotten her hands on a fake ID which meant fucking bar hopping. definitely a good idea. the pregaming by herself was definitely a good idea too. so there she was in a sports bar (this meant hella chicken wings too, fucks yes), doing tequila shots to her hearts content. tequila happened to make her a little more everything. she wasn’t shitfaced, by definition, but her inhibitions were definitely impaired.
which was why she was arm wrestling every motherfucker who would take her in this joint. and she hadn’t lost once so far! a lot of men were having their masculinity challenged tonight and the lot of them weren’t taking it well. she was eating it up.
❝ C’mon, anyone else want a piece of this? Gonna let a blue haired punk bitch show you big, strong men up? ❞ chloe mocked loudly. everyone was starting to ignore her for a variety of reasons. except one guy she caught looking her way-- not in a particularly interested way, probably just because she was loud-- a larger guy who looked like he could probably be a decent bouncer (if he wasn’t actually the bouncer) and literally pick people up and throw them on the streets. she just got that kind of vibe.
❝ Hey, you, blond guy! I challenge you! Get your ass over here! ❞ she waved at him and pointed at her arm on the table for emphasis.
