Maybe this is because I’m a notorious contrarian, but Android 18 has my vote haha
It would be easier. And way cheaper.

Have you seen the video of the 50SOG audiobook, narrated by Gilbert Gottfried? It's spectacular.
YES AND IT BROUGHT SO MUCH JOY TO MY LIFE
"STROKING THE FRONT WALL OF MY VAGINA"
I'm so confused about this casting/cutting thing because it's like. ARIANNE AND QUENTYN ARE AWESOME, AND YOU'RE CUTTING THEM SO YOU CAN PLAY UP A CHARACTER WHO HAS ZERO SPOKEN LINES IN THE BOOKS???? I also dislike the Myrcella recasting. Put some faith in your young actors and actresses, D&D. My interest in this season just plummeted, especially if they don't have Iron Islands stuff.
I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER BEEN THIS ANGRY AT A TV SHOW SINCE GLEE MADE BLAINE CHEAT ON KURT I SWEAR
ACTUAL POV CHARACTERS ARIANNE AND QUENTY MARTELL BEING CUT hastag amazing
and especially arianne ngl
arianne martell, HEIR to her father, poc woman with actual agency and a positive sexual experience is being cut
because of course she is
why were we even expecting anything else
I read the feminist critiques you posted the other day from fxfargo. I thought the TheMarySue and Slate pieces made the best arguments. The Buzzfeed one I think was picking the wrong battles. I think Lorne was always Grimly's fight, and I actually liked how Molly put her all into the Lester case only for him to get away via sheer luck and then end up causing his own demise on the ice. I also thought Fargo had major issues w/ fridging. All but 3-4 women w/ spoken lines were killed by my count
I actually felt all of those articles were mixed in terms of what I'd personally agree with versus not. I can appreciate that female characters in the show were generally portrayed in an abrasive way that could be seen as unlikable, bar a few, and that they were at times cliched. But Willa Paskin from Slate immediately took me offside by lumping Gina and Helena (Stavros wife) into the slut/gold-digger category, which was just disgracefully hypocritical and judgemental** from someone who wants to employ 'feminist' critiques as commentary.
I wasn't a big fan of the ending tbh--I wanted Lester to get Lorne (evil annihilating itself, and it also would've explained Lester's wardrobe colour palette becoming more and more like Lorne's) and Molly to have a more active role in getting to Lester in order for that final shot to prove satisfying. I felt Gus was out of the picture when they had him become a postman, and aside from finding Lorne's hideout and the tapes, that should've been the extent of his involvement. But that's just my personal desire coming into it.
I'm not overly familiar with the term 'fridging', but if it's to do with female characters being killed for the purposes of furthering male-oriented plots, there were only two--both being Lester's wives. The rest (Ida, Kitty, Gina, Helena, receptionist at Bemidji Police HQ, the prostitute at Lucky Penny, car salesman's wife, Greta) survived!
Just in general, I like feminist critiques when they're done well. But a lot of critiques I see just point the bone and go "Look, women are bitches on this show! This is bad!" or "Why aren't there more women on this show??" or "Female stereotypes again, ugh!" without really looking at how the female characters fit within the context of the story and the messages that it's trying to communicate. And to also acknowledge the fact that stories only have finite scope. Fargo was always going to be tricky to incorporate really meaty female characters (aside from Marge/Molly), because it's about crime (and the cruelty of men who perpetuate it), and also depicts small-town life, which is still, at its heart, conservative in its outlook and structure. But I'd value a decisive critique that tackles the issue of female representation in these contexts far more than the critiques of the show that I've seen. Maybe I should write one, lol.
Note - **Those women were married to their husbands for 10-20 years and had kids with them, and they are legally entitled to life insurance and divorce settlements precisely because they'd made these committments. That's why these laws are in place to start with. 10-20 years is a long game to play for a gold-digger I imagine!

Is anyone else kinda miffed that we got all this awesome set-up at the end of X-Men First Class for Angel and Emma Frost to be major characters in future movies, but then we get to DOFP and they just totally cop out and say "oh btw Azazel, Emma Frost, Angel, Riptide, and Banshee all just died in undisclosed manners after XMFC". Also, why does Wolverine go back instead of Kitty Pryde? Ellen Page-led movies are not a hard sell whatsoever.
YES THAT WAS A COP-OUT AND I AM STILL SEETHING OVER IT DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED
Ellen Page-led movies aren't a cop-out at all, and I utterly adore her (and her Kitty Pryde, which is a lot for me to say because Kitty definitely isn't my favorite X-Men character), but I can admit that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was more likely to get butts in theater seats. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a terrible film, but it garnered almost 400 million in box office returns. Audiences just really like the character, and Hugh Jackman owns that role. And despite it making more sense to send Kitty, sending Logan worked. He brought much needed humor to the story, especially with the 'man out of his time' thing going on.
From (this particular) writer's perspective, did it make more sense for Logan to go back instead of Kitty? No, not really.
From a film producer's perspective, yes. Sending Logan back--and bringing him to the forefront of the film series--could only be a good decision. Because MOOLA.

How long have you been drawing?
since i was old enough to hold a drawing utensil...
Do you draw more fanart, or more original art?
uhhhhhh. i'd say 50/50.
What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist?
i like beauty in things, and i like to invoke emotions in others. art- good art, whatever that means- is my chosen way of doing that. besides, you can't draw continuously and NOT become a better artist

I think Stannis fans wants their moment of glory after being pissed off at what the show has done to Stannis?
Ok, that's a good point and I'm starting to see that a little more now, that people will be afraid that Stannis won't get his moment. There's a lot of things to fit into the end of this next episode, a lot of stuff will happen, but Stannis arriving to the aid of the Night's Watch is a HUGE moment in the books, and I really hope that it's not glossed over. To be honest, I don't think they will, because it sets up everything there for next season. Even if it doesn't come the way we want next week, it might next season. I hate that there's only 10 episodes :/

I have zero problems with that episode, to be honest. Adding Stannis would have felt rushed and awkward.
I totally agree with you :)

Yes, that's exactly what I thought, there're following the book here ;) I just thought there were going to include in this episode.
Hahaha oh my gosh right? I thought for sure we'd see him at the end of this episode while it was playing. When it ended the way it did I was like nooooo you can't end there! But hopefully we'll see it all next week!
