The first witch of the family.
She smiled at her reflection in the mirror.
Avalon was set to make history in the Royal family of Sparxs, her official debut to wizarding society as the royal princess and guardian of the dragon's fire.
All the women in the family had been fairies and studied at Alfea as was the tradition ... But Avalon had ended this six months ago by deciding to transfer to Cloud Tower and become a witch.
If she was honest from her childhood she had been much more drawn to the dark magic of which her father was an expert.
She and her brother were the product of the marriage of Sparxs' former Fairy Guardian, Bloom, and the ruthless wizard Baltor. Queen Bloom had been criticized for having married the sorcerer but she never responded to criticisms and cruel comments, in fact they only maintained diplomatic relations and did not get involved with the rest of the magical dimension.
A knock was heard at the door of his room. "Ahead."
"Avalon, are you ready?" In the reflection she saw the image of her parents appear. Her mother was smiling sweetly at her while her father showed a proud expression.
"To give the entire magical dimension a heart attack?" Avalon responded by turning to her parents with a smile.
"You already did that months ago, Avalon." Her father hugged her mother and held out his hand to his daughter.
"Where is Xander?"
"In his room, he said he had something for you." Her mother helped her adjust the top of her dark blue dress.
"Honey, we must come down soon." Her father answered and her mother nodded.
"Go to Xander, we'll see you downstairs in a moment." The red-haired woman smiled at her husband and turned to her daughter.
"Come on Avalon, it's time for people to officially know you as the princess of Sparxs." They both started walking towards the Ballroom.
O.o.O.o.O.o.O.o.O.o.O.o.O
"The Royal Family of Sparxs is pleased to introduce you to Princess Avalon, the first warden sorceress of the Dragon's fire." The official title of the daughter of the Kings was announced to the guests.
The young sorceress appeared behind the scarlet curtains. Her long ash blonde hair pinned back, her dark blue dress matching the chiffon cape that hung from her shoulders. And just above her head a delicate gold tiara with tiny aquamarine stones, the same color as her eyes and her mother's.
Avalon flashed a smile in the direction of her family and bowed to them. Her father gave her an imperceptible smile of pride as did her brother.
"With you, King Baltor and Queen Bloom. Please welcome the heir to the Sparxs throne, Prince Xander. And the new guardian of the dragonfire, Princess Avalon." The guests bowed to the Royal Family, "On behalf of the Royal Family we urge you to enjoy the feast and the rest of the evening."
Avalon walked over to her older brother, Xander put an arm around her shoulders and smiled. "Guardian, someone hasn't stopped watching you since you showed up tonight."
"I'm not interested in the least, Xander." She answered.
"Then I will be your companion tonight, dear little sister." He offered her his arm to step into the crowd.
"I thought Alessa would be your date tonight, but I haven't seen her." She murmured in a low tone and glancing at him.
"We had an argument a couple of days ago. I know she's with her parents somewhere in this room." He responded by looking sideways, a brown hair and golden eyes caught the attention of the siblings.
"Go to her, I'll be fine." Avalon let go of his arm and pushed him in the direction of Alessa.
Xander shared a look with his sister before walking towards his girlfriend.
It was impressive to see him walk, his brother looked like his father but his features were softer. His gaze was not as hard as Baltor's, was like their mother.
An imposing young man with bright turquoise eyes, pale complexion, and short ash blonde hair. Xander would make an excellent king for Sparxs when it came his turn to rule.
The sorceress decided it was time to retreat to her private room when she observed Prince Skyler of Eracklion in the distance, she averted her eyes and disappeared into the corridors of the castle.
