Books and Barks || Belle & Demyx
@spastic-blond
To say that Belle was surprised was an understatement.
The brunette spent a good chunk of her time out of class at the library. She enjoyed the homey, quiet environment, and often used the location to get away from all the excitement on campus and have some time to herself. It was a usual routine for her.
Flipping to the next page in her book, Belle became engrossed in the novel. She began to forget about her surroundings and the people in it, her mind focusing more on the novel in her hands. Brown eyes shifted, reading through every word printed on the page smoothly, taking in each phrase and conjuring up a sense of understanding for the story. She was fascinated.
Well, until she heard a bark.
The sound was enough to break through Belle’s focus and drag her back to reality. She jumped, tearing her gaze away from her book and looking around the library in alarm. What was that?, she wondered, heart pounding in her chest. There wasn’t an animal in the library, was there?
It only took a moment for the brunette to realize that she was wrong; there indeed was an animal in the facility. Belle’s gaze became glued to a particular blond seated at a table nearby. There was a dog seated next to him, tongue sticking out of its’ mouth as it breathed heavily. Belle’s eyes widened.
She had always had a soft side for animals, as she was never permitted to have any of her own back home. With her curiosity getting the best of her, Belle rose from her seat. Slipping her novel into her bag, the female threw her bag over her shoulder before approaching the blond’s table. She slowed her pace, not wanting to startle neither the male nor the dog.
“Hello,” she greeted, offering a slight smile to the blond. She looked down, smiling at the dog as well. “I saw you and your dog and couldn’t help but come over. They’re quite cute,” she admitted, referring to the canine, “do they have a name?”
