#2763 - Taimanawa greyi
A genus of very large Brissid sea urchins, with four extinct species known from New Zealand, and a single very rarely collected species found off Indonesian and NW Australian coastlines. And the latter is the only time one has been collected roughly intact, although it did have a hole bored in it from whichever gastropod had killed it.
The fossil species were thought to be shallow water inhabitants, but the living species is a moderately deep water, outer continental shelf species, collected from between 260 and 431 m in deep soft sediment.
