Topi’s Daily Card #1020: Spawn of Thraxes
Now this is a great dragon for mono-red decks. With seven mana for ‘only’ a 5/5 flyer, Spawn of Thraxes relies on that ETB ability to do some real damage. It’s a strong inclusion for any deck that’s only running red, or maybe one other color at most. Most recently I’ve seen it more commonly used in Feldon of the Third Path decks, allowing you to keep getting clone copies from your graveyard with that ETB effect in tow. This is one of those cards for EDH that have a niche use, but in the right deck can be absolutely devastating. Red needs all the help it can get sometimes, after all.
