Finally dragged myself through Bedlam. Derek ruined Mev, China, Aby and even Val. The Unnamed is shown as incompetent at best stupid at worst. The only one he didn't completely ruin was Sef but her storyline has only just started lol. Her magic seems interesting but this series is just turning into a really bad family drama.

The Mev/Aby/Unnamed subplot keeps getting more and more stupid with each time Landy replays that flashback scene where Aby gets stabbed and each time something new gets added. I find it amazing how he manges to drag my fav (Mev) through the mud more and more with each book without even giving him any in-person appearances. Truely fucking amazing!

The Unnamed thing makes Mev look so bad, like, no one with half a brain would leave an opponent so powerful to die. You finish that fucker off right then and there to be 100% sure they’re really dead! Also, while would Mev not pull the Obsidian Blade out of him?? If it’s such a powerful weapon why wouldn’t he do his fucking best to keep it in his fucking possession!? Makes no fucking sense!

While Mev being macaroni boi’s father was kinda predictable and was predicted by some people online, it’s so ooc for Mev. An holier-than-thou typ of character wouldn’t cheat on his wife like that, especially not with someone like Aby. I haven’t read the books myself but by what I’ve seen in the tags and know from talking with people that have read the books, she is like the mage version of white trash: cheap. Mev has more class than that.

I’ve only gotten sent the pages where Serafina is introduced. What is her magic?
