…so I was looking at the protection of Pezzy by the frouse boys.. and it got me thinking

Since Pezzy arms are like a lava/soda lamp, what happens if his arms crack/break?

Cause it seems he’d have to be careful (judging by all the hoodies he wares) and I was wondering if a crack or break would cause the others to panic like hell?

(Also read the answer from the more animalistic boys)

Would that also cause puffer to be even more hesitant to be around Pezzy? Or more protective?

I had a few of these sketched out a while back so ty for giving me a reason to finish this lmao!

But yeah, the glass isn't nearly as fragile as it looks. It takes a lot to break it, and while it does scratch on things like metal objects or puffers spines the scratches aren't detrimental or dangerous. Puffer is not necessarily more careful cause he kinda still shows the same risk for everyone. Funnily enough technically Pezzy and Droid are the least likely to get seriously injured by him since for them the spikes can't really/easily get into their skin/blood, meaning the poison is not as much as a risk to them as it is to the other 4!

But for like helping or prevention injuries for Pezzy John and Droid are by far the most useful and hands on helpers. With John adding extra cushioning to a lot of Pezzys sleeves and Droid being the one to help fix cracks and things like that, that do end up showing. So he's in good hands just more annoyed whenever it does happen since it doesn't cause him pain just the effects of "blood" loss!

Imagine you're Bagi

Imagine you know this man, he lives across the river.

You've known him to be nothing but kind when he offers you advice, help and items. You see him be praised as an amazing father confidently taking care of 2 eggs, never asking or needing help to keep them fed.

His house is comforting and he always keeps his doors open to your and your friends antics.

Then suddenly you're confronted with his suffering, seeing his body split apart and a substance that looks like the void itself pouring from him, he doesn't mention it. Moves like it's not even there, there's no fear in his eyes.

But his kids look at you with tears prickling at the corners of theirs, begging for help or something.

Then, then you hear them argue, this man you've known by nothing but laughter and warmth and kindness and smiles sounds broken as he apologizes to his daughter, who you know loves him, for yelling at her.

You can't even imagine the sound of his voice yelling.

There's silence for a bit and suddenly those kids return. Scratched, bruised, tear stained faces staring at you looking guilty for even attempting to find someone to talk to.

And they tell you a lot, they're confused themselves about most of it.

They tell you how this man who you've only seen hug raised his sword at them with a purpose, tell you how the man who's voice rings with laughter spat venom at them through words he decided to lace with poison.

Tell you they've been haunted and hunted for so long that they don't even bother saying a time frame.

And you stare at these 2 kids, and the currently empty home of the man across the river who's been Nothing but joy and kindness and warmth and comfort and you wonder.

How long has he been suffering under it all

Is there ever a chance the more animalistic boys go full on instinct? Like if one of them (Pezzy*I love seeing him in danger I have a problem*) is in a dire need of help from someone who has bad intentions?

I wanted to answer this with the last ask at first but I wanna ig push this answer in a little bit of a different direction but with the same base idea! Hope you don't mind that!

For ig just letting instincts take over and running wild in a dangerous situation I feel like the boys could be kinda pushed into 2 different categories. Like the more self preservation instincts or the protective instincts (the latter one comes with a way lower sense of self preservation pffff)

For people like Puffer or Grizzy who definitely have the ability to cause the most damage it also makes them the ones the most hesitant to use that. They know how much harm they can cause and it's easier to push those specific buttons when you attack them on their own specifically. And while they will always step in to protect their friends they have a lot more control over it and would prefer to stay clear minded and use their abilities in that same way. Aka they do have instincts just not ones that fuel their protective behavior.

Now for the ones I feel like end up being the most aggressive it's definitely Droid and John. Droid is constantly working on trying to not be as protective but pack instincts that just come with who he is cause him to lash out a lot more, like growling is a big one he struggles to swallow down when it comes to it. John is similar in the sense that while not necessarily being fueled by instincts as strongly as Droid his ig species (that would take me too long to go into since I've also not fully fleshed it out) tends to rely on being in groups a lot more. So while he doesn't get physical in the way Droid does (who bullies himself in-between threats and those he cares for) he gets snappy a LOT (it helps that his cold claws and sharp teeth make him look surprisingly intimidating pfff). But yeah the main difference is that for these 2 they will risk their own life and safety as an instinct, their main focus very very quickly switches into just protecting before anything else.

For the last 3 I do feel that Pezzy, Smitty and Blarg also fit in their own little category. And it's mainly that they don't really have instincts that drive them to be protective or defensive, this doesn't mean they won't step in to help out their friends if it's needed but just that there is no risk for anything influencing their decisions. This also means especially these 3 tend to be the most vocal with being defensive! Which has some crossover with how John handles those types of situations but for these 3 specifically it means that they tend to talk themselves out of situations a lot more often than not, you'd be surprised but they will use any tactic they have at their disposal to achieve that goal and more often than not it does actually work pffff.

Your art is magnificent!! I especially love how you portrayed the boys around Pezzy!!

In your art, do the more animalistic boys (grizzy, puffer, droid, and Matt) show more of their animal counterparts in their traits?

Cause I noticed droid and puffers tails wrapping around Pezzy and it has been feeding me with ideas..

For the animalistic designs yeah! I always have their personalities and things in mind especially with those designs so I'm gonna try and explain it as best as I can lmao

Matt:

He honestly has the least notes I have about it but he definitely does have frog sounds He makes, he's also very likely to just casually try and kick people if they annoy him! And his kicks do carry a good amount of punch. He's also cold blooded. So he's very cold and usually either has to spend time in the sun or around others to keep warm (funnily enough with my John design being mainly ice based those 2 are not safe to be let alone together pffff). Aside from that he just tends to be a bit more bouncy? At least I try to keep that in mind when posing him!

Grizzy:

Grizzy was kinda easy since the bear features obviously correlate to his expressions. He also has paws which are not useful for fine things but he's stronger cause of it. He's also got a higher metabolism and kinda has a hibernation? It's definitely not long or heavy like the actual one but he just gets sleepier during the winter similar to Matt. He also runs the hottest out of all of them just due to having large parts of himself covered in fur. Also in my idea for him his anger comes out very much like a growl, and he bears his teeth when shouting more than the others. (He gives S-tier bear hugs as well cause I said so pfff)

Droid:

Droid was tricky to figure out for a while cause his "animalistic" parts are technically just robotics and holographic. But he does inherent traits of dog/wolf like animals. I always liked the idea that he's the embodiment of "petting a dog can biologically calm us down". Just very high energy in general. He definitely tires way less easily than the others due to him being mainly mechanical. Also man's can't lie for shit cause his tail or ears will give him away in a heartbeat, he likes to think he has good control over them but he doesn't pffff. He's protective like Grizzy and prefers to have someone else around at almost all times is just less likely to actually vocalize any sounds, he still has the sharp canine teeth tho! A small thing about Droids features specifically as well is that imo he doesn't necessarily have feelings in them? Like if someone where to touch his ears it'd be like electronic buzzing to him and the person would feel like a slight non dangerous electronic current run through them.

Puffer:

He was kinda the first where I was just like "yeah no that makes sense" with the animal parts. Like he can act tough and shit all he wants but the second he gets scared every spike he has on his body stands up like murder weapons, obviously this does make him dangerous a bit with it being a fight or flight fueled reaction but at the same time the others also think it's fucking hilarious. In general tho I feel like he has the most control of what he shows through his tail or fin motions, he mainly has that control cause he knows that those spikes can hurt like hell if they'd stab someone since he does carry the venomous feature. Aside from that I never gave much thought about other things but he does have a form of water breathing in my mind so idk what it says about his preference between water or land says yet but maybe I'll figure it out one day pffff. He's with John probably the most likely one to be resistant if someone wants to be close to him because they both are aware that they could accidentally hurt someone else it, it does however help in making both incredibly intimidating when it comes to their anger lmao (John's hands can get like causing instant frostbite cold)

I'm sure there's things I missed ngl but in general I'm so so down for people to take my designs or ideas and put their own ideas to it! I'd love a tag to see it just cause I love it but in general fanon ideas like this for me always are the most fun to explore if it's collaborative!

Because I’m sure the more animal boys would be instinctuall but was curious about it!

First of all thank you!!!!

It's very funny to me that I attracted all the Pezzy protection squad lovers lmao. But for an actual answer.

I feel like Pezzy can hold his own a lot more than people assume, he's surprisingly resilient and very good at hiding distress or pain if he's just not in the mood to have the others fuss over him.

In general the others respect the fact that he can ask them for help instead of just assuming he wants it a LOT and sometimes (mostly Droid ngl cause being a hybrid that is fueled by a pack/family makes him the most defensive for the people he cares for) choose to actively hold themselves back to respect that.

Obviously they've known eachother for a while now tho and it's gotten easier to read eachothers body language over time, so while they still prefer to verbally check in with eachother instead of assuming, it's gotten more common to let themselves rely on their just natural instincts with eachother and handle situations based on that.

Funnily enough I feel like John would be...not the most running on instincts one of the group but he's definitely the first to get snappy, he's the one who trusts his ability to read his friends expressions and body language the most and will either step into a situation himself or send someone to double check if everything is alright. He's kinda the first one of them that started pushing that a little bit harder and since then there's just been small things they've added into their group to communicate what they're okay with. Like small hidden hand or eye movements to communicate if a situation is dangerous, mildly annoying or not something that needs to be helped with!

There's something I haven't been able to forget since watching yesterday's Phil stream and its pretty self indulgent but God.

Let me explain.

Chayanne fought Phil over the course of 3 days right? He obviously got some breaks since he had a sleeping bag set up but by the amount of blood on the ground, the soreness of Phil's body and the blood covering Chayanne (which in my eyes that's Phil's and not Chayanne's).

I'm curious, or I'd like to think that Techno was with Chayanne during that time, he's the blood God so do you think Phil occasionally came back to himself and thought he was staring at his oldest friend due to the blood that covered the face.

Do you think Chayanne was doubting himself, loosing his stance, getting exhausted but each time he did there were strong arms holding his up, strategies being whispered in his ears and a chant that fueled him with confidence echoing through the air.

He'd hear a cocky laugh when the ender king had to take a break, he'd hear teases about how his father had become an old man and sloppy fighter but each insult and joke was filled with nothing but care for the crow.

And chayanne knows the stories, knows the man that helped him find his urge to fight. He's known the stories of techno since his dad's adopted him, and he always knew he'd have the protection of him deep down.

So while he feels awful there's a smile creeping over his face at a new drop of blood he manages to draw, he knows who he's fighting, and he knows that this is what he's meant to do. He gains his confidence in his footings and begins to repeate the teases the wind whispers out loud.

Because this isn't his dad he is fighting.

Because this isn't a God worthy

Because he is a child bound to the blood God by nature.

And he is one of us

With Phil so adamantly stating that the conversation with Pangi couldn't be lore and that he wouldn't do official lore I wanted to kinda go into my opinion of tr!Phil and how while Phil isn't actively following a character story he still SHOWS a lot of character in everything he does.

SO

The fact that he keeps going that he doesn't wanna do lore is so funny because his character makes so much fucking sense. Like if his stories are chronological (which they've been so far) it makes SENSE for him to be like this!

He came from the qsmp basically, came from loosing his found family, his friend's, his platonic husband, his children. The qsmp got Phil to crack and to actually feel, to allow himself to attach to mortality. And it broke him, the enderking, the loss, the constant mental torture. This server did severe damage to Phil and it shows in the realm so well!

He's isolating hard, he remembers faces and allies but to fully trust them and depend on them like he did on the qsmp? Yeah he can't handle going through that again so he leaves. Finds a safe haven on an island where mobs can't spawn and detaches himself from anyone and anything. He focuses on wood cutting, a mindless task that also allows him to get any bubbling anger out if needed

He'd deny the fact that the feeling of an axe is too familiar, and putting it down feels wrong....the name of code breaker almost slipping past his lips when sneeg asks for the name goes ignored like a lot of things

He sees the things that remind him, fights them with denial, annoyance and anger. And it's borderline painful to see, hell mostly BECAUSE that qsmp Phil is still there!

The fucking mushroom island has become a neutral gathering place for yellow, because as always people just flock to where Phil is. And he still cares for everyone, he helps where he can, gathers things of value and hands them out to people he sees as worthy of owning them. Phil tries so hard to detach after what happened on the qsmp but he truly can't bring himself to.

The conversation with pangi is the BEST example, Phil noticed his relationship to Pili because he can't loose his paranoid observations. He hands the weapon which is incredibly strong over because he can't help but care for emotional states. And he denies having friends to pangis face knowing full well that that's a lie, that sneeg won't leave his side and has moved onto the mushroom island with him, that Phil didn't tear down bagheras house because he can't handle truly pushing her away.

It's heartwarming as much as it is heartbreaking because he tries so hard not to care but deep down he's still Phil, he's still the father that loved all his children with unrelenting love and cared for his friends and husband with his own life. Tr!Phil is the pieces q!Phil left behind and he tries so hard to bury those pieces and rebuild the shell he once had but he's been changed to an extent that he can not undo. So he just lives in denial
