Repost @newyorkbullycrew 🚨 Who remembers the beautiful Linda? We rescued Linda in 2017 from an abandoned house in Puerto Rico. Linda was then adopted by her amazing family and had been doing so well ever since. Unfortunately, Linda needs our help once again. Linda’s family recently discovered a growth on her shoulder that kept on growing. Her family was getting nervous about it and immediately contacted us. Linda will be going to see Dr. Infernuso at @animalsurgicalcenter to undergo a growth removal, and the growth will then be sent for a biopsy. Please consider helping Linda’s medical care once again. Please know that Sussy's caregivers are giving it their all to try and help Sussy recover from her devastating distemper virus diagnosis. Although things are not looking good right now, they are not ready to throw in the towel just yet, and we are supporting them in this decision. We ask that you support our rescue partners as well. They have requested assistance with providing hospitalization for Sussy for 20 more days, with 5 additional therapy sessions. Sussy will continue with her acupuncture, massage therapy and physiotherapy. Although Sussy needs assistance to get around, she is still eating and drinking on her own. Repost @newyorkbullycrew Sussy • Our sweet Sussy has suffered a terrible setback. Although she has not been able to walk in the past few days, she was still able to stand and support herself. Unfortunately, she has now lost all function in her hind legs. Sussy is stressed and confused as to what is happening to her. Her seizures have subsided a bit with the anticonvulsant medication she is taking, but she is now experiencing full body tremors. Due to the severity of Sussy's symptoms, time is of the essence in determining a diagnosis. We do not believe that the paralysis and tremors are associated with whatever is causing her skin condition, and we are also now unsure if her symptoms have anything to do with her recent spay surgery that she was recovering from. Sussy is undergoing additional tests including blood, urine, cellular and neurological testing. Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts as her veterinary team works to find some answers. Repost @newyorkbullycrew Lacey • Introducing Lacey! This beautiful girl was rescued from Puerto Rico, found on a desolate road, under a bridge among a horror scene. Lacey was surrounded by other mutilated dogs and calves' corpses. When Lacey was found, the news and radio in Puerto Rico reported the scenario but no outcome came out of the story. Thankfully, Lacey has made a full recovery mentally and physically. She is finally ready to find a home of her own. Lacey is a sweetheart but will do better in a home with no small animals. Repost @newyorkbullycrew • Sofi • Look at the smile on sweet Sofi! Although she has endured so much heartache from losing her owner, coupled with the pain from the injuries she sustained while living alone on the streets, Sofi really came out of her shell quickly once she knew she was safe with our rescue partners! Sofi visited the veterinarian for an exam and it was determined that she sustained some kind of trauma to her spine. Unfortunately, Sofi is permanently paralyzed. Because she had been dragging herself on pavement and dirt while she was on her own, the skin on her legs is very raw. Sofi's legs have been bandaged and she's wearing protective boots so that her skin can heal. Her wounds are being cleaned and bandages changed twice daily. Sofi is also incontinent, so she is now wearing diapers. On top of this, Sofi had parasites in her stool sample, so she is taking medication for that. Finally, Sofi is on a special diet to optimize her health, and is taking vitamins daily. Repost @newyorkbullycrew Alma • We mentioned yesterday that Alma's condition is very serious, and her doctor felt that if she did not have a blood transfusion, she would die. We wanted to let everyone know that Alma received her emergency blood transfusion, and her hemoglobin level has been raised from a 2 to a 5. A healthy level is 13-15, so Alma still has a ways to go. Alma is still very weak and is unable to stand without assistance. She has also tested positive for the tickborne illness, Anaplasmosis. Because Alma can't stand or get around on her own, she has started to wear diapers. Luckily, the antidiarrheal medication Alma was prescribed seems to be helping, and the diarrhea has subsided a bit. Because of Alma's severe malnutrition, she is eating four small meals a day to help her gain weight and regain her strength. Alma is a fighter and has been trying to eat on her own. Her caregivers are monitoring her 24 hours a day and assisting Alma with everything that she does. Alma's list of medications is extensive and includes Genurin for bladder health, Omeprazole for stomach acid relief, Doxepin for pain relief, Enrofloxacin antibiotic, a sleep aid, antidiarrheal medication, and Ensure protein drinks. Repost @newyorkbullycrew 🚨 Large Paw Tumor • Jaguar 🚨 This handsome senior boy is Jaguar. He currently lives with a woman who regularly takes in and cares for Venezuelan street dogs. One of our rescue partners assists this woman every month by providing her with dog food that they purchase with the money that we send from our Food Fund. Jaguar has had a tumor growing on his front paw for some time, but his caretaker is currently without resources to have it treated. The tumor has grown significantly in recent weeks and is now impeding Jaguar's ability to walk. He is experiencing significant pain, and the tumor was also recently infected. Jaguar's caretaker asked our rescue partners for help in getting him the tumor removal surgery that he needs. Our partner turned to us for assistance, and we have committed to doing whatever we can to make sure this senior boy is no longer in pain.
