Women are treated differently

A friend of mine told me about it:

She works with several men in a group and every week her boss has a meeting with other groups in their office. She does not belong to the meetings so she stays at her desk.

Every time the (only male) co-workers enter the room they greet everyone in it and her in particular.

Like "Good morning. Hello Suzie!"

She greets them back, everyone the same way.

Her other co-workers in the room, who sit there and watch, complain to her about how she got treated differently.

How she get special attention, special greetings aso..

The do not unterstand or see that they are doing the exact same thing every morning they enter the office.

They do not understand or see the similar actions they do in their everyday life.

But complain about it.

And to make it clear:

She is not the type of person who wants special attention, she does not want to be hold the door open or get a chair set up for her to sit down. Especially not at work.

And she would never use anything than her work to get herself into a better position.

I know many people do not see their own 'faults' but every tiny bit someone else does wrong, and I don't want to believe that this is a mens-problem.

Complaining about the special attention they give a speciffic person.

Does anyone know similar situations?

Male names you hate and female names you hate?

I hate the name Keith, Trevor, and Colin just because they just sound dumb to me.

And I hate the names Nicole and Mary.

For personal reasons, you know, like when someone with a particular name ends up being a fake bitch and suddenly everyone with that name is suspicious now?

#😁#at least I learned something though that's all I can take from the fake friendships of the past #people will pretend to care about you until they grow bored of you #and then they'll move on and let you pick up the pieces without another thought because it's easy for them to leave behind #anyone who doesn't cater to their interests and desires lmao #people who want you to be their perfect version of a friend until you can't be that person anymore #and then you're nothing to them and they treat you dutifully as nothing #I do want to clarify though #that I'm not lingering on either of them as individuals because I think neither of them are so exceptional or special that they warrant #special attention #I think both of them had bloated egos and senses of self importance and I don't want to feed that by harping on them #but I think an overall lesson can be made for ME personally from the two of them #and that's that friends who treat you like nothing are nothing and they're the ones who'll regret not knowing you #even if they never think about you again #they're the people who lost something not you #you see I'm not the kid I was in high school #I didn't know that I didn't have to settle for anyone who paid me attention #and I didn't know what a mature friend looked like #I also didn't have any self confidence I didn't like myself and I couldn't understand anyone who liked me #so it put me in awe of anyone who even pretended to like me #but things are different now #I've made peace with the fact that some people will just want to use me for their own interests or ego feeding #and that's alright #I have a purpose for people like that too #they give me a sense of perspective #after all how would you know you're not being an asshole until you see someone being an asshole #points for comparison #they also taught me a valuable lesson in self dependence bc now I know how to let people go #and that's really something you never lose #the ability to smile and say it was fun but now your role in my life is over and you can just fuck right off
