Keep seeing movies with these vampires who act like zombies but smarter and I can't stand them.
I want them to struggle with what they are, to hurt in their hunger, to agonize with their loss of humanity even as they embrace what they've become. For the choice of changing another to be difficult and meaningful because they're sharing this wretched thing inside them and an eternity beside. I don't care if they're insane and weird about it, but there needs to be something more than 'make more' involved.
But no. I get zombies.
I get cult allegories and people so utterly altered it shouldn't even be a question they're not them anymore. Ones growling and scratching and starving. Oh, but they can talk and reason, in a way. They obey their master, it seems like a hivemind, but they're talking so they're not zombies.
They're zombies.
You've made zombies.
What are you going to eat when you make the world into zombie vampires?
'everyone else is livestock' doesn't work if you change everyone you don't eat.
There's no logic here.
I want vampires and I keep getting zombies.
