Followup with Neurology today. She has been doing so well with her trach, and being home is such a relief. I really hate this place now... I know they saved her life, but there’s a lot we are still going through, that I haven’t healed from yet....

We’re getting out of Dukey tomorrow. Za’s Nutritionist, Candy (haha), thought the Ketogenic diet would be best for the type of seizures Zaza’s been having. Now that she has her G-tube, I guess it will be much easier to manage because we’ll be making protein shakes and such. Anyway, we’ve been here for 3 days already, inpatient, looking rough, need to wash our hair, and do a selfcare today, because we smell like hospital, but SO FAR, Za’s seizures have been reducing, so we know that the diet is effective already, although she is quite fatigue from the adjustment in calories, and processing carbs, now her body is fueled by her proteins and facts - I’ll have to get to know this diet more as we see the improvements too.
Talk soon.
