Tuvok is competent as fuck at his job. He is brilliant in Voyager.

Not only does he consistently show great loyalty to Janeway and intimate knowledge of who she is and how she behaves which allows him to format plans to keep everyone safe around his knowledge of her, but he also is just damn good at it. He’s an incredible tactician, a weapons expert, and a quick thinker with great skill. I think about “Displaced” where the crew gets replaced by an alien crew, and the “Basics” two parter. In both of those, he’s got survival abilities, creates defense and offense weapons, and becomes a surveyor of the area they’re in.

Part of that is genuinely just Vulcan upbringing and life being abandoned in the desert for a while probably multiple times with a “good luck”, but a large part of that is genuine just honed abilities. He’s just fucking skilled. I love him so much.
