Jordan: Hebrew Origin || “to flow down” “descend”
‘Jord’ (nickname): Norse Origin || “daughter of the night”
Parker: English Origin || “keeper of the park”
Reason for Name: Jordan was originally a self insert when I was obsessed with until dawn aha! After a while I didn’t like having so many self inserts so I scrapped quite a few or made them into full on ocs - Jordan being one of them! She went from “Jess Parker” (because parker sounds similar to my last name) to “Jordan Parker” because I wanted a modern/strong sounding name for a girl of just that!
Natalie: Latin Origin || “birthday of the lord” “christmas” || variation of ‘Natalia’ of Russian and French traditions
‘Natty’ (nickname): Hebrew Origin || “god has given”
Drake: English Origin || “dragon” “snake”
Reason for Name: Natalie is actually the definite name I would use if I ever had a daughter!! I’ve wanted to use the name ever since I was about 8 (and yes its because of my queen Natalie Portman) so I figured why not give my self insert the names I would use for her kids, cus shes me!
Ophelia: Ancient Greek Origin || “aid” “benefit”
Dandy: Old Scottish Origin || derived from the name Andrew apparently
Thorn: English & Danish Origin || given to someone who lived by a thorn bush or hedge
Reason for Name: I really wanted a name that sounded cute/friendly but hid her more unsavoury tendencies. Ophelia was a name I liked for ages so I figured I would finally make use of it, while with ‘Dandythorn’ I came up with this myself because I wanted a name that sounded fantastical but realistic at the same time. I really like the juxtaposition of ‘dandy’ sounding soft almost, while ‘thorn’ sounds sharp - working perfectly for her extensive personality!
Tobin: Hebrew Origin || “god is good”
‘Toby’ (nickname): Middle English Origin || “good is Yahweh” (Yahweh being the Jewish God)
Drake: English Origin || “dragon” “snake”
Reason for Name: like with Natalie, Tobin is the definite name I would use if I ever had a son in real life! Tho that being said, I’m pretty certain now that I won’t be having biological children but rather adopt, so I may not get the chance to use either name - hence why using them for some of my most awesome characters was a must!
