“no way!” by instinct, she turned her back to him and hugged the controller. she was about to protest, maybe even put up a proper fight for the sake of mario kart. once she felt safe enough to do so, she immediately chose her favorite character as well as the kart, all with a smug grin over her lips. “i doubt it. but sure, try me if you dare.”

It was an unsettling thought. “Maybe, maybe not,” she replied with an honest answer. “Sometimes life doesn’t go the way we want it to. What if something happens and we get into an argument and that predicament leaves us hating each other’s guts! You can’t predict the future and neither can I. I mean, unless there’s something you aren’t telling me.” She wanted to make the atmosphere light with her playful tone at the end of her sentence, but it sure was hard when the concept of death and questions regarding their friendship were being tested.
