On a more serious note regarding the "Solas is like the devil on your shoulder constantly trying to make you make bad decisions".. I think @corseque made a good point, in that Fen'Harel in Dalish legends is known for giving cunning advice that, in true trickster fashion, may lead to a helpful outcome, but always at a cost or in a twisted way. We talked about how Solas might try to prevent Rook from trusting their companions because of his own issues/experiences with betrayal or that he might try to use Rook as a piece on his own "chess board".

But I think this also goes back to the mage origin in DAO and you being tested by Mouse, a pride demon, and how the greatest danger of the Fade is, after all, careless trust. I'm also thinking back to this banter between Solas and Vivienne, in which she literally said that he "sounds like a pride demon" trying to tempt you to "leave the path". Or Cullen saying that no demon will ever possess him because he is "too much like they are". Given that Solas literally translates to Pride and the Dread Wolf itself being described as a pride demon, this "devil on our shoulder" might end up being like one big test for us to pass throughout the story, much like the Harrowing in Origins. And building on that, there's also still this crucial piece of dialogue from Solas himself, talking about the perception of spirits and demons:

"The Fade reflects the minds of the living. If you expect a spirit of wisdom to be a pride demon, it will adapt. And if your mind is free of corrupting influences, if you understand the nature of the spirit, they can be fast friends."

In DAI, Solas was already a reflection of how you treat him. If it's true that, what the devs seem to be hinting at, we actually get to learn and see what happened in the ancient past and who Solas was before he "called himself Pride" (keeping in mind that Rook doesn't know anything about Solas as a person at the start of DA4), and we come to "understand his true nature"/original purpose/true name, then the above quote might be an analogy for how the relationship between Rook and Solas can develop and how we can influence Solas' character arc (on top of the relationship between him and the Inquisitor already having a huge impact on him?).

And if you think about it, it's so brilliant how they seem to put a spin on the whole thing now, by having the "pride demon" be the one who needs to trust the one who dreams. Or rather, expecting the pride demon to be a spirit of wisdom, and not the other way around.

The idea that Rook challenging/rivaling Solas by going against his "devil on our shoulder" advice/proving him wrong/"pass the test" and not expecting him to be that pride demon after Rook comes to understand his true nature/original purpose, could lead to him being more likely to "adapt", open up and learn how to trust again is so beautiful to me, but that could also mean a challenge for us Solas fans if we have to (at least in the beginning) bump heads with him in order to see that development. 🥲😂 Either way, Solas is truly in for the most intense kind of therapy session.

Is there something about Alexander you just know in your bones but can’t academically prove beyond doubt yet?

Things I Can’t Prove but Believe about Alexander

The first thing is that he and Hephaistion were lovers.

I realize that may surprise some of you as I’ve written on it both informally and formally, arguing they were. But the plain fact is…we just don’t have conclusive evidence. I do think we have plenty of evidence that Alexander was queer. But for whether he and Hephaistion were lovers, all the evidence is either circumstantial or late. It IS perfectly possible to make a cogent argument they weren’t.

But, as the asker put it, I know in my bones they were.

That’s what fiction is for. Ha.

In fact, a lot of things I suspect but can’t prove I’ve thrown into the novels.

A couple other things:

Alexander was a neat-freak. He didn’t like mess or disorder. He was also a perfectionist.

He took criticism way too personally and internalized it. This is why only certain people were allowed to criticize him; it had to be someone he believed truly loved him.

He was not an alcoholic (in any modern sense), but as time went on, came to depend too much on alcohol to relax because he was an extremely high-strung person.

He was quite shrewd, but also highly emotional and visionary. These were sometimes at odds.

He loved his sisters and felt close to them, more than typical for men of his era.

He loved animals more than typical. (I think there’s good evidence for this, but I mean more than typical.)

He was left-handed. (Pure speculation, but it’s a sneaking suspicion.)

He could sing quite well, but nobody wanted to listen to him because his voice was rough. He’d have made a great blues singer. (Again, some evidence for this, but it’s largely anecdotal which is suspect by definition.) He was also a very good dancer, and loved to dance, related to…

He was an excellent fighter, physically extremely tough and strong. He didn’t really feel fear in the middle of combat. (While this is attested in the sources, I put it in the “can’t prove” column because it could also have been pure flattery by later sources.)

The “Sleep and sex remind me I’m mortal” line is a real quip. He was trying to be funny. People took him more seriously than he meant, and he was actually referencing sleep more than sex. (Along the lines of our, “I can sleep when I’m dead.”)

He really did believe he was favored by the gods and his birth was special/fated; it wasn’t purely political. This grew the more he beat incredible odds. He never believed he was divine beyond what a human could achieve.

Since the Elemental trailer FINALLY dropped,it's time to do some speculation... Let's go.

I think this is Ember and Wade's first encounter.

You can see that the place is a mess,there is stuff scattered on the floor and stocks on fire.

Could be because Ember took charge of her father's shop and is a lil clumsy.

Anyway,one of the pipes looks damaged and she tries to fix it...

Wade,who I guess is a pipe inspector,slips out and floods the basement.

Fire Dilf finds out and is PISSED.

That's why he feeds Wade those incandescent meatballs,as a passive aggressive welcome idk lol

Ember doesn't seem entusiast about taking charge of the family's business and probably wants more in life.

Main characters' backstories.

Ember's curiosity leads to her sneaking out to explore Element City (she's never been outside of Fire City as Wade says).

Looks like she is chasing someone here.

Wade and Ember are going to meet again on the train,as seen in the teaser.

Also,that looks fucking painful 😭

They eventually start hanging out together and fall in love despite their bad first encounter.

Wade shows her around the city and Ember takes the decision to start a new chapter of her life there,together.

But Fire Milf busts them and opposes their relationship.

This is probably right before the movie's climax.

WHICH is going to be a huge flood!

I guess they are both going to save the whole city.

Not sure if this is where Wade is gonna save her or they're just on a date...

Here we meet another character,he's the one with the flower under the armpit (which is going to be used as a recurring gag).

There is also a cloud lady who looks a bit like an antagonist but I'm not sure ofc.

Okay, Okay…Just Saying, Have We Not Realized the Gravity of This Scene?

The man created a disrupto beam….

In one zap, this invention reduced one of Aviva’s inventions to pieces.

If he was able to utilize this invention to it’s full potential, how much destruction would he be capable of? Could he use this on the Tortuga? Or, the Creature Power Suits? What about the Creature Pods?

If it could destroy one of Aviva’s inventions, doesn’t it stand to reason it could destroy all of them? And, if so, why have we not seen it in action again in the show? Was the disrupto beam destroyed, and I did not catch it? Or, is the invention being kept on the back burner…to be used at a later date? Maybe at a point in season 7 or even the Wild Kratts Movie? But, all of this is simply my speculation.

I know a lot of us have said it before, but I will say it again, with this invention as my primary motivator:

The man’s talents and capabilities are underrated and underutilized.

what if in order to wake Cas up, Dean has to get into his memories, and he finds him in the barn on the night they met, and, mirroring the scene with Mary, he has to talk Cas out of the dream, and the only thing that works is him confessing
