Quel’thalas Nexus: the Sunwell

There seem to be quite a lot of ley lines running through Quel’thalas, something its people have taken advantage of. The Northern, Western, and Southern Sanctums of Eversong Woods were built upon leylines, whereas the camps An’telas, An’owyn, and An’daroth were built on intersections. The Sunwell however, was built upon a “nexus”, a convergence of two or more ley lines. Needless to say, its magic and energy is legendary.

Rune Pattern: Stormwind Mountains

The ley lines in these mountains cause great winds, most likely where the city got its name. While I wasn’t able to get inside the mountains myself, the rune pattern here supposedly allows the caster to accurately predict the weather a day in advance.

Ley Line: Ambermill

Ambermill in Silverpine Forest was built upon a dormant ley line, however when the inhabitants were threatened by the Forsaken and other dangers, an archmage attempted to reactivate the line to stop them—“Attempted” being the keyword. The wizard was defeated, and the ley line remained dormant.

Alterac Mountains Nexus: Dalaran Crater

The city of Dalaran was once built upon a nexus of ley lines with especially potent arcane power. There is still quite a bit of left over magic from the city’s removal, and with the crater it created, the ley lines have been exposed. If one looks close enough, they could be able to see the runes themselves.
