Advice to anyone writing fanfics about Gale (galemance or even him as just a background character in fics with other pairings)
Don't overlook Gale's past power level. Nevermind him being a former Chosen of Mystra... Gale was an Archmage. Not just a wizard, an Archmage!
Don't reduce him to some arcane spellcaster who talks too much and gets downed too quickly in fights. Gale knows things, more than even a Wizard Tav/Durge would know. He's the most knowledgeable companion at camp, certainly more that just the designated camp chef.
He might not be Lvl 17 (at a minimum to be an archmage in DnD) anymore due to the Orb and the tadpole (he got nerfed TWICE) but he's still got his knowledge. Make use of it.
Like him or not, respect his knowledge at least. Use Gale as a means of expanding lore for your fic (let him yap! Let your Tav/Durge get irritated by him if that's the relationship you're going for, that's fine!), even if he's just a side character in the tale you're telling. But don't downplay who he was before. His knowledge can add a lot of depth to your fic.
Enjoying this one coming together, and I followed some colour blend and colour palette tutorials on YouTube which really helped build the final palette for this one! Zoom in for messy details (it’s a work in progress)

I want to shake up the old days and start writing fanfiction about these guys again. I don't know if I have enough of a crush on something more than a couple of sketches, but we'll see. At least I used to like it.
