Not sure how familiar the tumblr community is with aac and letterboard communication but I’m taking a graduate level training program to become a certified provider of spellers method communication. I really believe in this method and have seen some really amazing things!
Essentially it’s a type of augmentative assistive communication (aac) used by nonspeaking autistic individuals. There is a communication partner who holds a letter board and may provide verbal prompts to help spellers initiate pointing to letters to spell out their thoughts (no physical contact is involved).
