Lesser Topaz Spellstone by Mike Azevedo just my opinion, but out of the three I like the lesser one the most.
Push, Shove
The Grindstone and the Spellstone removed Lucerna Sainahs from healing and overseeing duties today. This is purely a post to acknowledge that this is not a bullying/oppressive/isolating/hateful/whathaveyou action. She’s not banned from attending, she isn’t removed from associating. She just isn’t permitted to be part of the staff after today. There are reasons for this and you can ask if you want to know why, but to get into the nitty gritty would be unwarranted in a public post like this. This is purely to put context to any out of context snips people may see. We look forward to hosting you at future events.
Gogonji Wins the Spellstone
Entered Gogonji in the Spellstone - a weekly magic-based tournament that takes place every Sunday at 8pm EST out by Fesca’s Wash in Central Thanalan - on a whim last night.
Expected to conform to my standard of losing in the first round, but Gogonji decided to be stubborn and thus had other plans. Utilizing his knowledge of “Advanced Arcanima”, he confronted and overcame Blue Magic, a mix of samurai technique and Onmyōdō, and various flavors of Thaumaturgy and rival Arcanima to come out on top.
That said, each match was super fun and many of them were super intense, going down to the wire with both sides a point away from winning and refusing to bend. Not to mention the creative angles used by all the combatants - though I openly admitted to a couple of my own moves directly referencing Dragonball Z.
Not kidding, either. The Semi-Final round against @floating-city-of-nem ended with a beam struggle. And the finals had Gogon pulling off both Cell’s Perfect Barrier...
And Cooler’s dive through a Kamehameha (though granted this was done by Gogon’s Ifrit-Egi and not Gogon himself)...
(At ~4:40. HAD to use the DBZA version, of course. AVON CALLING!)
... To eke out a win against a sassy Miqo’te practitioner of primarily ice and snow magic.
All in all, it was a thrilling - and at times harrowing - experience and I’m glad I was able to attend. There was even some fun additional RP during and after the event that may see Gogon popping up a bit more. Will have to see how all that goes~
spellstones.
Finally, a good hecking article

There was just a Kotaku article on Balmung rp tournaments! While previous Kotaku articles about Balmung falsified information and took interviews out of context for sensationalist clickbait, this one is written with respect and honesty to the Balmung community. Please give it a read and pass it around so this author can get more exposure!
Here’s my art for Lesser Jasper Spellstone, a card in the new Hearthstone: Kobolds & Catacombs expansion.
