The Piedmont, Southern Railway
In addition to the famous Crescent, there was another passenger train on the Southern Railway after May 1st 1971: the Piedmont. It’s northbound in this case, seen here crossing over the Yadkin River, near Spencer, North Carolina. That’s the North Carolina Finishing Plant in the background.
