Training Question ...

Has anyone taught their dog to do a hip shift in the down? So, going from a sphinx to a hip roll back to the sphinx? If anyone has video to share then that would be appreciated.

I’ve noticed Finn almost never does a sphinx down. I didn’t realize until comparing the differences that Luna almost exclusively sphinx downed and Finn always leans on one hip or the other.

I can lure Finn into a sphinx down, but he generally doesn’t hold it outside of me actually asking for it and working on it. He isn’t reluctant to lay in the position. He just doesn’t prefer it.

Could something physical be making it unpleasant for Finn or is it just a habit that needs more reinforcement?
