Annabeth was RIGHT about the sphinx in botl and we need to talk about it. 0/10 on the trivia and I love trivia but it tackles knowledge and riddles are about wisdom and your thought process and asking basic trivia is not the same. Riddles are about out of the box thinking and problem solving, it's why they don't make sense at first. Trivia is about knowledge and logic and in no logical world is the answer to "what walks on four legs in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three at night" man. That question, as trivia, has no answer because it is nonsense. There is no creature that does that??? But if you think creatively, and take words like "walks" and "legs" and "morning/afternoon/evening" loosely, then you can get to an answer that makes sense, of course it's people they crawl and then walk and then maybe need a cane throughout the course of their lifetime.
But that's not a trivia question, and a trivia question is not a riddle. There is no amount of thinking that can help you figure out "what is the capital of Bulgaria" if you don't already know the answer. That's just recall. The only reason you might think the Classic Sphinx's Riddle is trivia is because it's a famous story and you know that you were told the answer when you heard it the first time.
The sphinx in botl was the embodiment of every multiple-choice standardized test you've ever hated and Annabeth was right to be mad about the lack of reasoning required because it is not a valid test of wisdom.
