WHOMST is this *absolute unit* of an Agelenopsis?? --- This #SpiderID mystery really threw me for a loop. I've seen typical Agelenopsis (grass spiders) with their sheet + funnel webs on hedges and bushes.. but this large lad is bigger than any I've encountered before. There is a whole neighborhood of these spiders along an easily accessed trail in a local park. I really thought this was some other strange genus in the Agelenid family, but after talking to other spider scientists, it seems that these are REALLY BIG individuals.
