Thank you so much for sending an ask! You somehow managed to choose both of the Ma pov stories I'm working on haha, I chose the one that is more likely to be finished sooner.

Girls night is a very self-indulgent short story about Ma and Baoxiang playing around with makeup and jewelry, but since it's canon universe and I'm the one writing it, it's turning out pretty sad 🙃

A very short snippet:

”I think it looks beautiful on you,” she says.

”You would think this beautiful?” he asks, and the way he says it makes it one of the most heartbreaking things she has ever heard. How he would surround himself with the beauty of art, how he chose his own exquisite clothes and jewellery so meticulously, yet could not fathom how anyone would see that as beautiful.

Nephry:

1 - Why do you like or dislike this character?

I love Nephry because we're given very little about her actual past but she still feels entirely fully fleshed out--she loves her brother and is both frustrated with him and worries about him; she had a loveless marriage and is thus this example of a person very dissatisified by the Score but has to live with it anyway; she's the freaking governor of Keterburg! Idk I feel like she's a full character but she also makes me wonder about everything else that has happened in her life

12 - What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I think Nephry has a lot of buried rage that she wasn't allowed to or able to express for various reasons and as an adult she's working through it but sometimes...sometimes it slips out

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

I know it's cliche but Peony.....I think they have a lot of similarities being, yknow, not stupid but not smart like Jade or Dist, and going through the same trauma...I think they have a really strong platonic bond!!

Peony:

2 - Favorite canon thing about this character?

His absolute willingness to give up the throne and how little he thinks about the Score. Thog did NOT care about all that noise. I think it's a super effective way to give insight into Peony and how he's not power hungry at all. I also think a lot about when he punched Jade in the face like go girl do that again. He doesn't put up with bullshit!

8- What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character you despise?

Whitewashing....I know I draw him far darker-skinned than he is in canon but there's a decent amount of art (including canon published art) where he looks like a porcelain doll

24 - What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

THIS ONE IS HARD.....HM.....[takes a 5 hour break in which i go to work] okay this may be insane but i think urahara from bleach? there are a lot of differences as well and i think urahara is a lot more manipulative than peony but i think both of them have got that sense of right and wrong without any sort of lust for power if that makes sense

zhuyang ghost will hopefully be posted very soon! it's more or less canon-typical zhuyang sex except ouyang is a ghost. and they use the ghost sword.

Slowly, Zhu runs the blade against Ouyang’s cheek, not to cut - not yet - but to caress. Something peculiar happens at the point of connection. A spark, a friction. It’s hard to know where the sword ends and where Ouyang’s ghost body begins. But there is something that pushes back, something that invites Zhu to push against it.

horny ouyang is a more or less canon-compliant xuyang story where ouyang is lusting over not only xu da but also over a lot of other men that are/have been in his life. and ofc he's being very ouyang about it. a short snippet under the cut:

When Ouyang can’t sleep, his stupid mind replays the image he had conjured earlier, of Zhu and General Xu. The general lavishly playing the flute with his eyes closed as Zhu is lying on his back.

Eventually his mind replaces Zhu’s bony frame with Ouyang’s own body. And it hurts, it hurts so much because he knows he can’t be in the image like that.

And then it hurts even more, to think that if only he could have it, he would want something so shameful. General Xu’s mouth on him, pleasuring him.

WRITING ASKS, 4 + 5?

4. What kind of endings do you prefer?

I like writing happy endings in general :-) but I'm exploring more...idk. Not sad but also not happy endings. It depends more on the genre I'm writing and the character I'm focusing on!

5. Do you plan or jump right in, and if you plan, how much do you like to do before you start a story?

Oh I jump right in...0 plan just start writing. As I go along if something particularly genius strikes me I write it down so I don't forget but I'm SO bad at outlining I just go in and am like eh the characters will lead me to the plot. Not in an unguided way per se but in a character guided way!

Because he could smell the cake through the box, Kaden opened it without reading the sticky note, eyes widening when confetti flew everywhere in and around his doorway. “Aish…” His face forming an immediate pout, he still licked some of the icing from the cake, and pulled the note off to examine it. Turning his head back into his apartment, he shouted to let his pets know to be good before closing the door and making his way to the elevator.

In the elevator, he took a big bite of the cake, icing on his nose and cheeks. He didn’t bother wiping his face because he didn’t seem to notice the mess despite the stares from other residents in the elevator. By the time he made it to room #333, he was on his fifth bite, even more icing on his face. Knocking on the door, he smiled wide so it’d be ready for Suzy.

Suzy was in her room cleaning up the mess that her two dogs had made. Gift wrapping and streamers strewed the room. The two puppies had found her stash of gift preparations and had found an interest in the sound it made whenever they ripped it. Both sighing and laughing at the two, Suzy bent down and picked up the scraps which were soon replaced with even more. She sat on the floor, just watching the two have fun on their own. “You guys should clean this up yourselves!” She said, pointing a finger at the two who were excitedly jumping in the piles of tissue paper. 

Hearing a knock on her door, Suzy got up from where she was seated on the floor and made her way to the door. She looked at the intercom, the video on. Her eyes widened in surprise to see a man who’s face was almost completely covered in icing. She opened the door, blinking at the sight in front of her. “Uh... I see you got my present..?” She couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh, shaking her head in amusement.

Toshi stared at the dual-colored eyed woman with slightly cocked brows, intimidating but enthralled all at the same time. "Hi..." It was more of a mumble, not used to interacting with people— or even being out of his house for that matter.

Truthfully, Yeoroo had recently been pretty holed up in her apartment as well, only leaving to get groceries or to exercise her pets. Today, she was doing similar, simply shopping for her groceries until the man had spoken. He spoke just as she reached up for a bag of sugar just out of her reach, and she quietly grunted at it. She turned to him when she heard him though, since they were two of the four people in the aisle and the others were too far away for her to hear them, his mumble had still caught her attention. “Oh.. Hi--” She then paused to examine him for a second before looking at the bag of sugar again and back at him before opening her mouth to speak again. “Hey.. Uh.. You’re kinda tall.. Or at least taller than me.. Would.. Would you mind reaching that for me please?”
