So I tried drying some purple deadnettle and I don't know what went wrong. I just pulled the buds off, separating them from the stems as I removed the flowers. This is everything other than the stems. I'm new to drying plants so I'm not sure if this is what usually happens or if it's cobweb mold or powdery mildew?
Here's what I did:
- bundle all the deadnettle I collected with a blue rubber band
- wrap a plastic bag around the deadnettle, leaving the ends of the stems so I could watch the process
- use another blue rubber band to hold the bag around the plants
- hang bag of plants from a hook in my room
That's it. That's all I did. They weren't in the sun. I don't know if it's just because I left them for maybe 3 months at most or even if it's normal?? When I has dandelions out on a plate this didn't happen. If anyone has experience drying plants please help!
